![]() If you get in early you can travel directly via freeway to Springdale ( Zion).300 miles your longest drive. I'm assuming a late afternoon arrival to SLC. So the following plan seems doable before or after speed week. ![]() If hiking days are not as important for you then you will really enjoy seeing all the parks. We are not avid hikers, more photography, short walks and seeing all the overlooks etc. ![]() an extra day or two to enjoy Zions, A full day for Bryce, A full day for the drive between Bryce and Capitol Reef, a full day for CR and possibly the opportunity to see Goblins Valley. Don't think of what you would be missing (a small park with over 2000 stone arches, and the other with fantastic views over the Colorado and Green river river corridors), but think of what you would gain. That leaves out any visit to LV though, so not sure if that was also a priority? It would give you one extra day to see the parks so that would help.Ĥ) Leaving out Arches and Canyonlands would be helpful in your original plan. And since your main attraction is bonneville speed week flying into and out of SLC would seem the best. Although it doesn't seem like it, a round trip from SLC is just slightly longer (maybe 100 miles overall- its been awhile since I checked) than a one way. the visits won't be great, but you will get an idea of what is available should you ever want to try again.Ģ & 3) to avoid a one way car rental (drop off fees can double your rates) you probably want to arrive and leave from the same airport. Thurs 13th, Canyonlands National Park to Bonneville Speed Weekįri 14th, Bonneville Speed Week to Salt Lakeģ) Can I fly out anywhere besides Salt Lake CityĤ) I'm considering shortening the trip by removing Canyonlands and Arches, What would I be missing?ġ) You basically have 6 days to see 5 parks. Wed 12th, Arches National Park to Canyonlands National Park Tue 11th, Capitol Reef National Park to Arches National Park Mon 10th, Bryce Canyon National Park to Capitol Reef National Park Sun 9th, Zion National Park to Bryce National Park Itinerary is as follows with all dates in August We are both in our late 50's so long hill climbs are not in the picture. ![]() ![]() While there I would like to take the wife and start in Vegas, rent a car, go to the mighty 5 national parks then to Bonneville Salt flats for 2 days of Speed Week and then to Salt Lake City for departure. I'm planning a trip this year to the Bonneville Salt Flats in August for Speed Week. ![]()
